Wrestling MPire 2008: Management Edition

After making its mark in the ring, Wrestling MPire 2008 heads backstage where the REAL power is! This special Management Edition takes the same great gameplay and turns it on its head by challenging you to call the shots instead of taking them. Create the saviour of wrestling and then assume control of any one of 6 major promotions to realize your vision. Take charge of the locker room by firing the deadwood and hiring the stars of the future. And if they don't already exist, mould your own legends in the ring and in the gym via an ever-changing cocktail of statistics. Then all that remains is to bring your show to life as a chart-topping force of entertainment! Along the way, you'll field suggestions from your employees, demands from your superiors, and scorn from your rivals - as you work through an endless schedule of possibilities. Your ring battles may be over, but the ratings war has only just begun...
Requires a PC compatible with DirectX graphics. 1.6gHz processor recommended. Vista users may experience difficulties on "limited accounts" and are advised to run the program as an "administrator"...

Boxed Version
$16.99
Click to order the official boxed CD version of the game. It comes in a fully decorated jewel case, complete with a pull-out instructions summary and exclusive bonus material - including source code extracts, graphical templates, and demos of many previous games. Since space isn't an issue, the disc is also able to offer high quality versions of the game media! The product ships from California USA, so please anticipate shipping costs and delays for international orders. Also note that this is the game in its purest form, and is therefore the easiest to update...
The boxed game is also available from CafePress

Downloadable Version v1.3
(43mb)
Click to download a special trial version of the full game. You can load it up 3 times, free of charge, after which you must register at full price to continue. Orders are processed in US Dollars ($16.99), but international currencies are welcome and should be translated automatically. However, please note that these online versions aren't as easily updated as the pure boxed game...

Demo Version
(16mb)
Click to download a permanent demo of the gameplay. In the interests of a small download, please appreciate that many features have been restricted and/or reduced in quality. It merely gives you a chance to play a meaningless match between 2 preset characters. Simply take it as a test to ensure that the game works on your computer and then read the official preview or download the trial version to learn more about the full game...

Boxed Game v1.3 Update
(1.6mb)
Click to download a patch that brings the boxed game up to v1.1. Coming so early, there really is very little to get excited about. It simply covers a bug that was affecting the way multiple falls pan out in a team environment, and also ensures your referee preferences are respected at all times. Simply use this new executable to load up the game and it needn't be an issue...

Data Converter
(1.6mb)
If you enjoy customizing my wrestling games, you'll be pleased to know that transferring files between Career Edition and Management Edition just got a hell of a lot easier! Despite their apparent similarities, the arcade versions and booking versions have always had different sets of data that they handle in their own way. That's still the case with this new series, but I've put together a special program to bridge the gap. This "Data Converter" uses the programming you wouldn't normally have access to to load up data from one game and save it for use with the other. You can then take those converted files away and toss them into your installation of the other game, which means any character changes you've made can be transferred properly...

High Resolution Textures
(8mb)
Get the game looking its best with these high resolution versions of the costume textures. Simply use WinZip to extract the contents to your game's "Characters" folder and you should notice the difference. Be warned though - they're excluded by default because they greatly increase loading times and damage performance on slower computers! You may want to consider backing up the low resolution originals in case your gaming experience is negatively affected...

Wrestling MPire Fansites

If you don't like my humble graphics and fictitious rosters, there are several leading fansites where you can get content made by fans! There you'll find dedicated artists that have rather more time to devote to visuals than I did. The photo-realistic changes aren't always in keeping with the game's original style, but it's worth a look if you prefer that approach. And if you're inspired to make your own content, you can find an audience for that too:
