How do I
deliberately improve my "Attitude" in Wrestling MPire 2008?
As
it says in the "Career Guide", every refusal or dishonourable decision damages
your reputation whereas every concession or honourable action improves it. If
the booker sets it as a mission, it basically means you have to agree to
everything he says for a while!

How do I deliberately lose or gain weight
in Wrestling MPire 2008?
As
in real life, weightlifting (i.e. improving strength) gains weight and
cardiovascular exercise (such as that for agility or stamina) loses it...
Will there be a "real world" patch for Wrestling MPire 2008?
No,
I don't consider that to be my responsibility anymore because anybody can do
it for themselves once they unlock the editor. Mine would only be a "real
names" patch anyway!
Will there be any more updates to Wrestling MPire 2008 beyond v1.5?
Any
new moves that seep into Management Edition will be made backwardly
compatible, but other than that I have to draw the line somewhere and can't
promise anything major...

Why aren't there many moves in
Wrestling MPire 2008?
The
bar was raised considerably for this new game, which meant that every single
animation was a mini work of art that took hours to complete. That obviously
limits the number that one man has the time (or sanity!) to churn out. More
importantly, every animation also has to be loaded into memory - which would
make loading times even longer than they are already. Plus the selection
expands with each version update, so there's still time for one or two more
yet...
What do the "Team Control" options
mean in your wrestling games?
You
can either control the whole team or one specific character. "Specific In
Career" means you would normally control the whole team in exhibitions, but
want the realism of sticking to your star character in careers...
Why does my booker set me missions that are impossible to accomplish?
As
in real life, bosses can make unreasonable demands for their own amusement -
or because they simply want an excuse to get rid of you!

How come
upgrading the TryMedia trial costs me "renewals"?
It's not meant to be that way, but there's some sort of discrepancy between
the version that was first on this site and the latest versions that are
available now. If you ever have a problem upgrading, simply contact me (or
TryMedia themselves) with your registration info and the matter can be
easily resolved...
How can I
preserve my saved games when reinstalling a new trial?
The
"Data" folder contains everything that is unique to your game. Simply back it
up and copy it over to a new installation and everything should be as it
was...
Why don't
the "trial" versions of your games load up for me?
I
can only assume your computer happens to have a problem with the business
front-end that those publications have. You can always settle for the
permanent demo version, which is an indicator of how the pure boxed game would
work...

Previously...
How is it possible to incur a "Foul" in Reach?
It's not! I included that possibility right at the very beginning so that I
had it covered, but it turned out there wasn't much a player could do to
deserve one. I decided to keep order automatically so that the player could
concentrate on boxing...
How come you could stack items in Big BumpZ but can't do it in the
proper wrestling sims?
The
main reason is that, as with lying people on tables, there's no logical reason
to do it! A game makes wrestling a very real experience, whereas Big BumpZ
was all about performing stunts and had the luxury of wallowing in nonsense.
Plus, the programming of items is more sophisticated in a proper wrestling sim
and allowing them to be stacked would only complicate matters...
Why
isn't it possible to add NEW characters to your games?
Technically, it is - it's just that I use up all the slots on your behalf!
You're then invited to replace any characters you don't like. There has to be
limits to these things because storing hundreds of characters in memory
(especially when they have images assigned to them) can be extremely demanding
for a computer...
Have you considered making a sequel to Popscene?
Yes, it remains my most successful project outside of wrestling - so it
deserves to be the next one to benefit from the years of improved graphics. I
fully expect to make Popscene: Track 2 at some point in 2008...
Is it
possible to buy the compilations via download?
No,
the whole point is that a CD is used to provide a large body of work on one
disc. Even if the games involved were small enough to download as one, it
still wouldn't be easy to market them as such...
If I have the TryMedia version of a game, can I upgrade to the latest
SoftWrap version?
No,
they're two entirely separate entities - so neither one cares that you own the
other. For the record, the SoftWrap version is the one that I endorse
here at MDickie.com. TryMedia simply take my games elsewhere and
try to bring them to new fans, so the version you come across may not always
be the very latest one. If upgrading is important to you, you should always
visit MDickie.com before making a purchase and check on the game's
official status. Better yet, aim to buy the boxed full game and it'll never be
an issue!
Why don't
the downloadable patches work on my trial?
As
the website clearly states, those patches are strictly for the BOXED version
of the games. The files of an online purchase are a lot more sensitive, and
obviously can't be replaced or tinkered with without incident. They have their
own methods of being upgraded, which involves reinstalling the very latest
version and activating it again (for free)...
