Farewell Interview
As my gaming career draws
to a close, I let Bernard Randall speak for the fan community as he gets the
answers to a few final questions. If any other websites would like to talk about
my work, do get in touch over the next couple of weeks because I won't always be
available in 2009...

Final Game
Released
After months of secrecy, all is
revealed with the release of my final project - The You Testament. As the
implications of that title sink in, the reasons for my secrecy should become
apparent! An interactive retelling of the story of Christ is no ordinary
project, and I couldn't risk misunderstandings about what I was doing until it
was 100% complete. Now that it's here in its entirety, you can let the concept
wash over you and come to an informed decision. As Christmas approaches, it will
either speak to the good in you or rouse the evils of ignorance and cynicism.
I'm quite aware that I've committed career suicide with this project, so it's of
no consequence to me either way. Fearless and innovative to the end! Mel Gibson
made him bleed, Kanye West made him walk... you know there's only one man that
can make a prophet LIVE.
Coming Soon
Although the door has closed on
my gaming career, there are still one or two loose ends to tie up as we go into
2009. The You Testament will round off The Rise And Fall Of The MPire
- a "Greatest Hits" package that includes every major game I've ever released
(so hold off if you intend to buy multiple games any time soon!). I'm also
putting the finishing touches to a book that documents my unique career as an
independent game developer. Between the two projects, that should make for a
fitting farewell...

Updates for 30th November 2008
New Game Completed
For what it's worth, the new game
has officially been completed! However, I'm afraid I'm going to have to remain
tight-lipped until the very day it comes out. There's more publishing than ever
to do this time, because I have to put together months worth of screenshots and
videos in a single week. Rest assured I'm on top of it though, and what I
finally do release will be 100% finished product instead of the usual "work in
progress" stuff. If everything goes according to plan, you'll be playing it
by next weekend...
CafePress Goes
International
CafePress still aren't in
my good books after inexplicably losing the ability to manufacture CD's
properly, but you may be interested to know that they've upped their
international game. They now have sister sites tailor-made for Australia,
Canada, and the UK - which offer the same products in a format that suits you.
They're also claiming faster shipping times, but that doesn't make much sense
given that the products still ship from the USA?! Make of it what you will
though and see if the service appeals to you...

Read-Only Memoirs
In addition to working on the
final game, I can also reveal that I'm hard at work on a book that documents my
unique foray into the world of game development. I started off doing it just for
the sake of it, but it's turning out to be an interesting piece of work that any
fan of the games will love to own. You'll never look at them in quite the same
way again! I'm certainly enjoying writing it anyway. It helps to make sense of
every experience I've ever had over the past 10 years, and leaves no doubt that
things are coming to a natural conclusion. Look out for it in January 2009...

New Screenshot Released
It's hard to keep quiet when
you're working on the biggest game of your career! What I can reveal is one of the game's 32 unique locations. As you can see, the
foliage has taken a serious step forward. They're still sprites, which is always
going to look questionable up close, but from a distance the sheer variety is a
feast for the eyes. All kinds of different trees and plants now adorn the
outdoor landscapes, and there are also smaller versions that make for good
indoor decoration...

New Commentary
Whether my departure brings a
smile to your face or a frown, it seems there's a little confusion as to what it
means. My critics seem to think it's cause for celebration, while my diehard
fans seem to think it's an obstacle that needs to be overcome. It's neither! To re-iterate, I'm retiring by CHOICE.
A choice that no enemy can ridicule and no ally can question. All is explained in this updated commentary...

2007 Enters The History Books
While I'm busy working on my
final project, there are also plenty of loose ends to tie up on the site. As you
can see, there's already a new banner that better represents the past 12 months.
2007 has entered the History books too, which finally brings that section
up to date. I normally do it at the turn of the year, but I held back this time
so that the year's relevance could be better assessed. There weren't that many
events to digest since the production of Wrestling MPire 2008 took up
half of the year, but take a peek to reacquaint yourselves with the legacies of
Hard Time and Reach. Speaking of nostalgia, fans of that section
will be interested to know that I'm also hard at work on my autobiography which
will document my career in unprecedented detail. You can also expect a final
compilation that features EVERY major game I've ever made on one great value
disc! All 3 projects should come together by Christmas, which will be a fitting
farewell...
